The postpartum period IS wonderful and filled with love. It is ALSO commonly filled with anxiety, fatigue, hot flashes, discomfort, and mood swings.
This is why our birth doulas are still on-call for you 2 weeks postpartum. We offer visits and classes to educate you before baby comes.
Who to work with in the 4th trimester:
- Lactation Consultant: You need to feed your baby. Even if formula feeding, they can help with tongue tie assessment.
- Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy: 4-6 weeks after birth. Important even after c-section.
- Naturopathic Doctor: Blood work, thyroid, anemia, gut flora restoration.
- Sleep Consultant: Take a class prenatally. Formal sleep training starts around 4-6 months.
- Postpartum Doula: Day or night assistance when family support is unavailable.
- Psychotherapist: Emotional support and relationship strengthening.
- Bodywork: Massage, craniosacral therapy, acupuncture for nursing-related strain.
